One calm Summer night

a battered ship sailed across the sea.

There stood a sailor holding a light

lonesome, on the deck with me.

When all of the sudden we heard a tune,

it was starboard, we presumed.

So we looked out and we could see

a mermaid, with her chest out and free.

She called us out to swim with her

and told us of the adventures that could occur.

So we dove off the side of that ragged ol’ ship,

and here’s the story of that night’s trip.

This blog is The Sailor’s Song, a continued journey of an old man’s tale.
